Brandon Sanderson to publish new short story collection with Gollancz

Author of The Stormlight Archive and the Mistborn saga Brandon Sanderson is set to publish new short story collection with Gollancz, an imprint of Orion, part of Hachette UK.

The deal was agreed by John Berlyne of the Zeno Agency, on behalf of Joshua Bilmes of the JABberwocky Literary Agency, and Gillian Redfearn, deputy publisher of Gollancz, at the Orion Publishing Group.

The new short fiction collection is titled Tailored Realities and includes the never-before-published novella Moment Zero. It spans the genres of fantasy and science fiction, and features stories from beyond Sanderson’s Cosmere universe.

Tailored Realities will also include "Snapshot", "Perfect State", Defending Elysium (a novella set within the world of Skyward) and five other previously published stories. Several of them have never before been available in print. Each story will be accompanied by a new black and white illustration.

Redfearn said: "Sanderson delivers something unique and remarkable with every story, and this collection is a gorgeous showcase of what he can do."

Tailored Realities will publish in autumn 2025 by Gollancz in hardback, e-book and audiobook.
