Canbury Press has bagged a book on the impact of Brexit by ex-BBC Newsnight presenter turned Remain campaigner Gavin Esler.
Brexit Without the Bullshit will be published on 27th June in paperback, hardback, e-book and audiobook.
Mixing personal anecdotes, reportage and expert reports, it promises to calculate the impact of a no deal and reveal “the damage that leaving the European Union has done, and will do, to schools, hospitals, businesses and other important areas of British life”.
Canbury Press m.d. Martin Hickman acquired world English language rights from Andrew Gordon of David Higham Associates.
Hickman said: “This is the book Nigel Farage doesn’t want anyone to read. It sets out in accessible and ordinary language why Brexit is such an unending drain on public life. No other Brexit book has ranged so widely and pithily across the life of the nation and I am immensely excited to publish it.”
Esler explained: “This book was inspired by the misinformation, disinformation and blatant lies of those who have brought us Brexit. They clearly have no idea what they are doing and are putting at risk what is left of the unity of the United Kingdom. The Brexit fiasco has created an image of our great country which looks incompetent and divided to the rest of the world and a political system which is no longer fit for purpose.
“My aim has been to offer the facts about what Brexit will mean for our daily lives - from the food we eat to how we will source our medicines, where our health care workers will come from to what travel in Europe will look like. My only regret is these facts were not discussed when we voted in the 2016 referendum. I hope Brexit Without The Bullshit will help us think again.”
