Canongate has acquired the world English rights to The Kremlin School of Negotiation by business coach Igor Ryzov.
Simon Thorogood, editorial director at Canongate, acquired the rights from Paula Canal at Indent Literary Agency. The book will be translated by Alex Fleming and is slated for June 2019 publication.
“Using the official Kremlin method, Igor Ryzov guides us through the most effective techniques in negotiating terms that satisfy both parties,” says Canongate. “From knowing how to get the most information about a potential deal, to how to read your counterpart, and to advice on defusing tension, this comprehensive handbook ensures a mutually acceptable resolution that leaves you walking away successful, while also avoiding strained relationships.”
Thorogood said: “If there was ever a time when we need insight into the Russian mindset, it is now. The Kremlin School of Negotiation is a serious, and award-winning, business book, which offers that insight but is also a fascinating read not just for business readers, but anyone interested in contemporary Russia.”
The Kremlin School of Negotiation scooped Best Book by a Russian Author at PwC’s Business Book of the Year in Russia Award in 2017.
