Carrie Hope Fletcher reunites with Grewal at HQ in two-book deal
Actress, singer and writer Carrie Hope Fletcher is joining HQ in a two-book deal.
Publishing director Manpreet Grewal acquired world English rights from Hannah Ferguson at Hardman & Swainson for With This Kiss and one other novel. The deal sees Fletcher reunited with Grewal, who was her fiction editor at Little, Brown before Grewal moved to HQ. With This Kiss will be published in hardback, trade paperback, e-book and audio in August 2021.
The new novel's synopsis explains: “With This Kiss is a magical love story about Lorelai, an ordinary young woman with a normal life who is carrying a terrible burden; whenever she kisses someone on the lips, she sees how they are going to die. But she’s never known if she’s seeing what was always meant to be, or if her kiss is the thing that decides their destiny. And so, she hasn’t kissed anyone since she was 18. Then she meets Grayson, and for the first time in years she yearns for a man’s kiss. But she can’t… or can she? And if she does, should she try to intervene and change what she sees?”
The writer's first book, All I Know Now (The Experiment), was a number one Sunday Times bestseller. Her first novel, On the Other Side (Sphere), also went straight to number one. Through Nielsen BookScan she has sold 172,462 books for £1.26m, with All I Know Now her bestseller on 42,013 copies sold in hardback.
