Cassell has acquired a 670-page book giving "the full story" behind every song Bruce Springsteen has ever recorded and released.
Bruce Springsteen: All the Songs: The Story Behind Every Track by Jean-Michel Guesdon and Philippe Margotin will publish as a £45 hardback on 6th October, after world rights were acquired by Joe Cottington, senior commissioning editor at Octopus Publishing Group, from Éditions E/P/A in France.
Branded "the most in-depth study of Springsteen’s music ever written", the book is promised to provide "fascinating insights and detailed information on every track" in "the complete history of one of the greatest musical legacies of all time".
Arranged chronologically by album, authors Guesdon and Margotin explore the details behind early hits such as "Blinded by the Light" and "Spirit in the Night", to classics such as "Born to Run", "Hungry Heart", "Dancing in the Dark" and "Born in the USA". The book also contains hundred of photographs.
Guesdon, a Paris-based musician, composer, and sound engineer, and Margotin, who has written music books about Radiohead and U2, have already teamed up on All the Songs: The Story Behind Every Beatles Release and Bob Dylan: All the Songs: The Story Behind Every Track.
Springsteen has sold 135 million albums worldwide and has confirmed that he will tour again with the E Street Band.
