Century announces Toon's return with new 'heart-wrenching' love story

Century will publish Paige Toon’s next novel, Only Love Can Hurt Like This, described as a "will-they-won’t-they to steal your heart". 

Cornerstone managing director Venetia Butterfield and Century fiction publishing director Emily Griffin acquired world all languages rights including tv and film directly from the author to her next two books. Only Love Can Hurt Like This will be published on the 27th April 2023. 

The synopsis reads: "When Wren witnesses the moment her fiancé falls in love with someone else, she leaves home and heartbreak to spend the summer with her father and step-family on their farm in Indiana. There Wren meets handsome and enigmatic Anders, who is about to turn her life upside-down yet again.

"As the summer progresses, Wren’s feelings for Anders grow stronger. But Anders is harbouring an earth-shattering secret, and if he acts on any feelings he might also have for Wren, it will have serious fall-out for everyone. Walking away will hurt Wren more than she can imagine. But, knowing the truth, how can she possibly stay?"
