Century has jumped for Game On, a cheerleader/football romance, from previously self-published author Ki Stephens.
Commissioning editor Jess Muscio has acquired world rights from Caitlin Mahony at WME for publication in July 2025. North American rights went to Alex Sehulster at St Martin’s Press.
Game On follows and English cheerleader in Nashville "who makes a no-strings-attached deal with the star quarterback while trying to ignore that it might lead to more".
Muscio said: "This is an energetic and exciting story that centres around female sportsmanship, and how much hard work goes into excelling athletically as a woman. Ki perfectly depicts the power and vivacity central to competitive cheer, and frames it expertly within a wider sweet, but spicy love story that is guaranteed to capture the hearts of readers everywhere."
Stephens said: "I’m obsessed with sports romance, particularly when it comes to new adult fiction. It’s the perfect genre to capture those exhilarating ‘first’ moments, moving from teen chaos to adulthood [...] Game On is particularly exciting because it centres on a predominantly female sport. It has the spirit of classic films like ’Bring It On’, but with a modern sports romance twist."
