Century has signed Help I Sexted My Boss, a "hilarious" guide to modern etiquette from William Hanson and Radio One DJ Jordan North, hosts of the the podcast of the same name.
Zennor Compton, editorial director, commissioned the book and acquired world rights from Northbank Talent Management and Stuart Morgan at Audio Always. The book will be published on 9th November 2023 and also released on audiobook by Penguin Random House Audio.
"Much to the disdain of my fellow commuters, William and Jordan have made me snort-laugh in public many, many times while listening to their podcast," said Compton. "As a certified ’G&Diva’, I’m thrilled to be publishing William and Jordan’s book. Their playful rivalry is such fun to listen to and is just as lively on the written page. Whether you’re already a fan of the podcast or not, Help I Sexted My Boss will be the must-have book for Christmas and beyond."
Hanson was given the title of "Britain’s Youngest Etiquette Expert" at the age of 16. Now in his 30s, he has worked with royal and "vip" households, coached diplomats and advised brands and businesses on correct form and protocol as director of etiquette training at The English Manner.
In this handbook, Hanson and North provide a "definitive, witty guide" to avoiding awkward moments in any situation from dinner parties, first dates and flatmate drama.
Hanson said: "I am so excited to be giving our loyal listeners, and new readers, our hard backed offering this Christmas. To be able to take the advice we have been giving on our podcast since 2018 and expand and finesse it for this new manual for modern life is incredibly thrilling. I suspect my own contributions to our literary oeuvre will be full of highly sophisticated language, complex clauses and thought-provoking and applicable advice for modern life. Whereas Jordan’s parts won’t take up too much ink."
North added: "I cannot believe I am writing my first ever book, and with my best mate! In the early days of the podcast we would often joke that one day we would have a book out. Like William, I too am super excited to be offering advice on modern day dilemmas to both our loyal listeners and new readers! We can guarantee that the Help I Sexted My Boss book will be in a similar vein to the podcast. Fun, silly, a bit rude and with plenty of passive aggressive comments from William."
