HarperCollins Children’s Books has scooped the third instalment of Eoin Colfer's Artemis Fowl companion series The Fowl Twins in a two-book deal.
Harriet Wilson, publishing director, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Sophie Hicks from the Sophie Hicks Literary Agency.
The first book, The Fowl Twins Get What They Deserve, sees clones, fairy magic and criminal masterminds come together in an ultimate showdown between the twins and their worst enemy. It will publish in hardback on 21st October 2021 with simultaneous e-book and audio editions. Disney Hyperion will also publish in October for the US markets.
The original Artemis Fowl series, published between 2001 and 2012, has sold more than 25 million copies worldwide with 44 translations, according to the publisher. The Fowl Twins spin-off series launched in 2020 with HarperCollins.
Colfer said: “Working with the HarperCollins team has been a magical experience for me as a writer. It has been a positively collaborative experience and I’ve come to realise that they are as quirky and idiosyncratic as I am, which is good considering what I am about to unleash on them.”
Wilson added: “I’m so excited to be publishing a third Fowl Twins adventure and Get What They Deserve delivers on all the hallmarks that have made Eoin’s work such a success: it’s wildly entertaining, high-tech, high-adrenalin action, with whip-smart dialogue and lead characters who break all the rules in the most daring ways…”
