Confingo bags Haslam's 'vivid' account of Picasso's Parisian nightlife

Confingo has bagged Adventure Everywhere: Pablo Picasso’s Paris Nightlife from Dave Haslam.

Publisher Tim Shearer acquired world English language rights directly from the author. The book will be published on 4th May 2023.

Adventure Everywhere is the latest instalment in Haslam’s Art Decades series which depicts "the world of drink, sex, music, drugs, art and chaos that constituted Picasso’s nightlife". It is a "vivid and intriguing" account of how significant nightlife was during Picasso’s life in Paris.

Shearer commented: "Each of the Art Decades books is the fruit of meticulous research, illuminating little-known aspects of their subjects’ lives while remaining true to their author’s aim of being accessible to all. Adventure Everywhere is particularly revealing about Picasso’s friendships and relationships, as well as being a richly entertaining and stylish piece of writing."

Haslam added: "I loved writing and imagining the excitements to be had in Montmartre and Pigalle by the young Picasso [...] singing of wild nights and lost love, vagabonds, anarchists, absinthe, opium dens, dives alive with ideas. But as the book develops, the idea of ’adventure’ becomes more to do with attitude, a radical mindset."
