Cornerstone Press has acquired The Price of Money, a “guide to getting ahead in a world in financial turmoil,” in a five-way auction.
Originally self-published by Rob Dix – the creator of “The Property Podcast” and investment expert – the book has already been a number one bestseller on Amazon Books, selling almost 5,000 copies through the Nielsen Total Consumer Market, the publisher said.
Now, Cornerstone Press is republishing a revised and updated edition, supported by a campaign to take the book to an even wider audience. Editorial director Rowan Borchers acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Rachel Mills at the RML agency in a two-book deal.
Cornerstone Press will publish in hardback, trade paperback, audiobook and e-book on 30th March 2023. In The Price of Money, Rob Dix reveals how we entered a world of soaring prices and rocketing inflation – and explains what you should do now we’re here, the publisher says.
The synopsis says: “[it] explains why the pound has lost 99% of its value, and how to use future declines to your advantage; how the government produced billions out of thin air in response to Covid, and which investments will benefit the most as a result; and, most importantly, what’s coming next – and how to position yourself to gain rather than suffer.
“You don’t need even the slightest knowledge of economics to read this book – just a desire to understand why the world of money is working against you, and what to do about it. Rob Dix started investing as a hobby using his spare cash, but soon became obsessed. Over the next 10 years, he would do everything he could to educate himself about the financial world and to pass on what he learnt.
“Today, Rob is one of Britain’s best-respected finance experts. Whether he’s presenting ’The Property Podcast’ or writing his weekly property column for the Sunday Times, Rob is on a mission to teach the world about how money, the economy and investment really work.”
Dix said: “Over the past year we’ve moved into a completely new era of how the financial system functions, and understanding it has never been more important. Since the original publication of The Price of Money I’ve received countless messages from people saying it has given them a confidence in making financial decisions that they’d previously lacked, and I couldn’t be more excited to partner with Cornerstone Press to bring these ideas to a wider audience.”
Borchers added: “In an age of unprecedented economic turmoil, Rob Dix’s knack for making financial ideas accessible – even amusing – is more necessary now than ever. This book will change how a generation of people think about money and the economy; it is an honour to be publishing it onto Cornerstone Press.”
