Cornerstone Press has signed the inside story of Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter, now known as X, from New York Times reporters Kate Conger and Ryan Mac.
Publisher Helen Conford pre-empted UK and Commonwealth rights to Character Limit: How Elon Musk Destroyed Twitter from Beniamino Ambrosi at The Cheney Agency. Penguin Press will publish the US with UK publication scheduled for September 2024.
In Character Limit, Conger and Mac uncover the full story of how Musk acquired Twitter through interviews, unreported documents and internal recordings taken at Twitter following the acquisition.
The publisher continued: "With unparalleled sources from within and around the company, they provide a revelatory, three-dimensional and definitive account of what really happened when Musk showed up, spoiling for a brawl and intent on revolution, with his cadre of lawyers, investors and bankers."
Conford said: "Character Limit is a deeply reported, fast-paced and biting work of investigative reporting, told in vivid, cinematic detail. With unparalleled sources from within and around the company, this is a revelatory and definitive account of what happened from two writers at the new vanguard of investigative financial reporting."
