Coronet lands 'inspiring' memoir by netball star Mentor

Coronet has landed the “insightful and inspiring” memoir by English international netball star Geva Mentor.

Fiona Rose, editor at the Hodder & Stoughton imprint, acquired world rights from David Riding at MBA in association with Trent Tavoletti. Leap will be published on 27th June 2019, just ahead of the Netball World Cup in Liverpool.

Mentor is widely regarded as the best netball player in the world and the best England player of her generation. In 2018 England’s netball team, the Vitality Roses, won gold at the Commonwealth Games plus prizes at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards for Greatest Sporting Moment of the Year and Team of the Year.

The publisher explained: “This is more than just a memoir. In Leap, Geva shares the most important lessons she’s learned since the beginning of her career aged just 16 – from how to make the most of your talent, handle setbacks, the struggles she’s faced both personally and professionally, and how to make that jump no matter how scary it might appear. In the book, Geva discusses the challenges she’s faced including athletic ageism, relationships and juggling multiple careers (she’s currently training to be a teacher while travelling the world for netball) among others. Leap is the first of its kind; offering insightful and inspiring stories for women in sport and beyond.”
