Del Rey has signed Star Wars: The Acolyte: Wayseeker, a tie-in novel to the Disney+ series "Star Wars: The Acolyte", from Justina Ireland.
Editorial director Kate McHale acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Penguin Random House US. Random House Worlds will publish in the US in May 2025, simultaneously with Del Rey in the UK.
Wayseeker marks the next instalment in the Star Wars: The High Republic series, an interconnected saga that straddles television, books, comics and manga. According to Del Rey, the series has sold over 175,000 copies across all formats.
The Disney+ series "Star Wars: The Acolyte" stars Amandla Stenberg, Manny Jacinto, Lee Jung-Jae and Carrie Anne Moss. Rebecca Henderson plays Jedi master Vernestra Rwoh, around whom Ireland’s novel revolves.
McHale commented: “The High Republic series has been a standout part of our Star Wars publishing over the last few years. The ambition and scope of the storytelling has delighted fans new and old, and it’s a thrill to see The Acolyte now form part of the story. We’re hugely excited that Justina Ireland will penning this new chapter.”
Ireland added: "I’m excited to get to spend one more adventure with Vernestra and explore the many ways she has matured and grown since her time in the mainline High Republic books."
