DK will publish Fakeaway: Healthy Home-cooked Takeaway Meals by TV presenter and produce expert Chris Bavin in January 2020.
In Fakeaway, Bavin - who presents on the BBC show "Eat Well for Less" - will introduce readers to "better-for-you versions" of favourite takeaway meals, providing 100 recipes, from pizzas to pies, tacos to burgers.
The recipes are promised to be "big on flavour, quick to make, and budget-friendly" as well as easy-to-follow for those on Slimming World and Weight Watchers plans. There are also options for readers on gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan and vegetarian diets.
World rights in all languages were acquired by DK Publishing director Mary-Clare Jerram from Borra Garson at Deborah McKenna Ltd to publish on 23rd January in the new year.
Jerram said: "Chris is fast becoming known for his quick, healthy and delicious recipes that are perfect for families and anyone on a budget. DK are thrilled to be publishing Fakeaway: Healthy Home-cooked Takeaway Meals, and Chris’ versions of everybody’s favourite takeaways are just what we need to bring a little healthy indulgence to the New Year.’"
Bavin added: "We are a nation of takeaway lovers! It’s easier now than it ever has been to get your dinner delivered to your door - but it comes at a cost. I hope my new book Fakeaway will help those who love their Friday night fish & chips or weekend curry feasts to replicate their family favourites in a healthier and more affordable way. Whether you want to tighten your belt financially or literally, this book is packed with tasty, healthier versions of your favourite fast food.”
