DK will publish the second book from nutritionist Rhiannon Lambert, The Science of Nutrition: Debunk the Diet Myths and Learn How to Eat Responsibly for Health and Happiness, on 30th December 2021.
The title is billed as a "ground-breaking book that cuts through the noise of conflicting diet advice, debunking popular food myths to redefine nutrition in the modern world". In a Q&A format, Lambert will give clear answers to food-related questions backed by the latest scientific research, that will enable readers to make informed decisions that are best-suited to them about what, when, and how to eat, the publisher said.
Lambert is the founder of Harley Street clinic Rhitrition, author of Re-Nourish: A Simple Way to Eat Well (Yellow Kite, 2017) and host of the "Food for Thought" podcast, which gives readers "practical, evidence-based advice on how to achieve a healthier lifestyle".
Lambert said: "I am incredibly excited to set the record straight with The Science of Nutrition. My hope is that this book will become the go-to nutrition resource, which everyone can turn to for the help they need, not just to eat better, but to enjoy eating freely too. I've immensely enjoyed writing this encyclopedic book, answering every burning question on how and why we eat, and challenging every bit of misinformation we face today. To be considered DK's authoritative voice for nutrition and share my evidence-based approach beyond the confines of my Rhitrition Clinic in Harley Street is a dream come true."
Katie Cowan, publishing director for DK Life, acquired international rights directly from the author. She commented: "We're thrilled and excited to welcome Rhiannon on board at DK Life for a book that combines the in-depth knowledge and expertise of her nutritional practice with the authority of our health and wellness publishing."
