DK to publish celeb mums' guide to safety online

DK is publishing Parent Alert​!​ How To Keep Your Kids Safe Online by celebrity mums and best friends, Nadia Sawalha and Kaye Adams, on 19th July 2018. 

The book, intended as "a go-to guide for parents and carers on the greatest threats facing children today online”, will be written by the two "Loose Women" presenters in collaboration with international cyber-security expert Will Geddes.

It follows a Facebook video posted by Sawalha and Adams last summer exposing the dangers of Snapchat, which attracted 26 million views in three days. The pair, who often appear in YouTube vlogs together, also recently collaborated on a cookbook, Nadia & Kaye Disaster Chef, which publishes with DK in March.

In Parent Alert! mums Sawalha and Adams will ask Geddes to provide "no-nonsense answers" and "practical advice" in response to parents' concerns, including action plans for real-life scenarios in "non-techspeak". Issues covered in the book are sexting, cyberbullying, phishing and ghosting, online grooming, nude selfies, cyber-crime and other "internet dangers”.

"You know what they say, 'If you can’t find the book you are looking for, put it out there yourself'," Sawalha and Adams commented. "With a teen and tween each, all of them ‘digital natives’, we wanted some help navigating the sometimes treacherous waters of the online world; to know when to rest easy, when to be on alert and when to panic. As parents, we believe this book is essential reading and we hope other parents think so too."
