Global publisher DK has acquired two more books from bestselling gardening author Anya Lautenbach, with the first set to publish in the autumn.
DK Life editorial manager Ruth O’Rourke acquired world rights directly from Lautenbach in a two-book deal.
The Money-Saving Garden Year: A Month-by-Month Guide to a Great Garden That Costs Less will be published in hardback in October 2024.
Lautenbach’s debut, the Sunday Times bestselling The Money-Saving Gardener, was published in February 2024.
Her second book offers readers month-by-month guidance on what to do when in the garden, keeping budget in mind.
Lautenberg said: “I am so excited to be working with DK on my next book! The response to The Money-Saving Gardener was just phenomenal and so encouraging - there is a clear demand for more and my new book gives me the opportunity to help even more people with answers to their gardening questions and help them save money too.
“Working with the DK team has been amazing and the experience has opened so many doors for me. I can’t wait to see where the next step of this journey takes me.”
O’Rourke said: “Anya brings so much energy and positivity to everything she does and in her second book she is channelling it into helping gardeners all through the year. Taking a month-by-month approach, The Money-Saving Garden Year will be full of Anya’s gardening wisdom, handy hacks, and timely money-saving tips.
"Anya has done all the hard work planning everything, so the reader doesn’t have to. With Anya’s approach you can just enjoy gardening even in the colder months.”
Lautenbach is a self-taught gardener from Poland who lives in Buckinghamshire. She has a 500,000-strong audience on Instagram for her gardening content, where she is known as “Anya, the garden fairy”.
