Headline Publishing Group has signed two novels from the author of The Ice-Cream Girls, Dorothy Koomson.
Fiction publishing director Jennifer Doyle bought UK and Commonwealth rights from Antony Harwood at Antony Harwood Ltd.
Koomson, who most recently was published by Century, has sold 2 million copies through UK Bookscan. Her novels include My Best Friend’s Girl (Sphere), a Richard and Judy pick, and The Ice-Cream Girls (Sphere), which was adapted for ITV in 2013, while her most recent novel, The Brighton Mermaid (Century), was published last week.
Doyle praised Koomson as "a wonderful storyteller with a unique ability to write thought-provoking, page-turning and utterly immersive novels that explore hard-hitting issues and complex characters”.
“I am so thrilled and proud to welcome her to Headline and I can’t wait to get started on publishing her next book," she added.
