Amazon Publishing’s Thomas & Mercer imprint has signed two new titles from former BBC journalist, Teresa Driscoll.
World English language rights were acquired from Madeleine Milburn, who said the Amazon Publishing platform had enabled Driscoll to reach "hundreds of thousands" of readers in the UK and US.
The deal follows the release of Driscoll’s psychological thriller I Am Watching You with Amazon Publishing, which reached number 1 on the Kindle chart in the UK, US and Australia. Her next book, The Friend - about what happens when you put your trust, and the safety of your child, in the wrong person - is published in March.
The first of the two new titles, The Promise, is centred on "three friends bound by a dark secret" and will be released in February 2019. A second title will follow later the same year.
Editor Jack Butler said: "We couldn’t be happier to sign two more books from Teresa. She’s an immensely talented thriller writer.
"I Am Watching You took the charts by storm on publication last October. The Promise is another skilfully plotted tale, focusing on three friends bound by a dark secret and a joint promise to bury the truth. Teresa is such an exciting new voice in the psychological thriller genre. Her rapidly growing fan base are going to love these new stories."
Driscoll added: "The reaction to my debut thriller I Am Watching You has been nothing short of extraordinary. I'm so grateful to readers and can't wait to share The Friend with them next. To now sign two more books is wonderful - I love working with Jack and the team at Thomas & Mercer."
