Mitchell Beazley has acquired a television tie-in to ITV's "Eat Shop Save" authored by the show's presenter, medicinal chef Dale Pinnock.
The book publishes on 5th July 2018 at £14.99 and contains over 80 recipes to "restore sanity to the challenges of family cooking".
World rights to Eat Shop Save: Recipes & mealplanners to help you EAT healthier, SHOP smarter and SAVE serious money at the same time were acquired by Octopus editorial director Eleanor Maxfield from Shirley Patton, head of publishing at ITV Studios Global Entertainment.
Focusing on those who are "time-poor", chapters in the book include: "Quick After-Work Suppers", "Favourites with a Facelift" and "Something Sweet (but good for you)". It also comprises weekly meal planners to help readers experience the same eight-week transformation shown in the programme. By becoming smarter shoppers, some families on the show were seen saving hundreds of pounds; others lost up to a stone in weight.
According to Octopus, the first series of ITV’s "Eat Shop Save" captured the attention of over 3 million viewers while the first episode had a 6.7 million reach on Twitter. Furthermore, also according to Octopus, demand for recipes in the programme drove 235k original views to the website and saw some supermarkets go out of stock of ingredients featured on the programme.
The second series consists of four 30-minute episodes on primetime ITV slots in July and August 2018.
