Produce expert Chris Bavin, long-time presenter on the BBC show "Eat Well for Less?", is publishing his first solo cookbook with DK.
Bavin, who is also co-judge on the BBC’s "Britain’s Best Home Cook" alongside Mary Berry and Dan Doherty, will be publishing his book with DK in spring 2019. World rights in all languages were acquired by DK publishing director Mary-Clare Jerram from Borra Garson at Deborah McKenna Ltd.
Bavin has worked with fresh produce for over 20 years. On "Eat Well for Less?", which he presented for seven series since 2011, his aim was to help British families with their shopping and eating habits. Garson said this experience had given him "an insight into the nation’s fridges, store cupboards and freezers" and "a unique understanding of where families are going wrong in the kitchen, and how he can help".
Bavin said: "Having a young family myself has also made me realise the challenges we all face to stay healthy and provide nutritious, quick and easy meals on the table every day. I hope this book will inspire readers to make full use of the amazing ingredients we have access to and help create simple, speedy and satisfying family meals."
Jerram commented: "Chris is a resourceful home cook who writes no-fuss recipes, uses his freezer efficiently, and makes the most of left-overs. His goal? To eat better, spend less time in the kitchen and more time with his family. We are thrilled to be working with Chris on a new cookbook to help readers do the same."
According to DK, the book will be supported by a high-profile PR and marketing campaign.
