Ebury Press has acquired a "shocking" true story of modern-day slavery in the UK.
World rights in the true crime memoir, Slave: Snatched off London’s Streets - How I brought down my traffickers by Anna and Jason Johnson, were bought by Sara Cywinski at Ebury Press from Paul Feldstein at the Feldstein Agency for publication in May 2018.
In the book, Anna tells her story of abduction as an innocent student and how she was forced into the UK sex slave industry, threatened and tormented by her pimps and forced to sleep with thousands of men. It also relays how she managed to escape her captors, and eventually, with the help of the police, bring them down.
It has been optioned by Renegade Pictures and is slated to be a BBC One television drama for broadcast in autumn 2018 as part of a "modern slavery" season involving a number of other European Union nations.
