Ebury Press has acquired Richard Schoch’s How Sondheim Can Change Your Life, a guide to better living through the musicals of Stephen Sondheim.
Publishing director Albert DePetrillo acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Rachel Clements at Abner Stein, representing on behalf of David Forrer at InkWell Management. The book will release in the autumn.
Following the arc of Sondheim’s career, How Sondheim Can Change Your Life is full of stories and insights into his creative process, and reveals the many ways that Sondheim’s works can "enrich lives".
Schoch said: "Stephen Sondheim wrote musicals that don’t just entertain or fascinate us; they also include and involve us. And ultimately, his works are about us. I’m thrilled to partner with Ebury Press to share what Stephen Sondheim can teach us about life."
