Ebury Edge has acquired Good Ideas and Power Moves, a guide to the 10 power moves that have built Taylor Swift’s superstardom and empire, from a former Strategist at Harvard Business School’s Institute for Strategy, Sinéad O’Sullivan.
Géraldine Collard, senior commissioning editor, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Sabila Khan at Penguin Random House Inc. Senior Editor at Viking (US), Emily Wunderlich, will publish the book alongside Ebury in September 2025.
The book is described as “the first deep dive into Taylor Swift, the c.e.o.” Its synopsis reads: “As an asset, the pop star has higher returns than 99.9% of hedge funds. A better strategist than most successful corporate chief executives, she is the only person that the US Federal Reserve and European Central Bank track with precision and she moves financial markets faster than high-frequency traders.
“From knowing who to compete with (or not), to building a self-sustaining Swiftverse, the book introduces fundamentals of business, strategy, influence and branding that Swift has mastered and that we can all learn from to further our business and personal activities alike.”
O’Sullivan, who is part of the top 0.01% of Taylor Swift fans worldwide, as ranked on Spotify, said: “Like many people, the music of Taylor Swift has long been intricately woven through the highs and lows of my personal and professional journeys. As an artist and a c.e.o, she has forged a unique leadership style unlike any other global executive, which I have watched and learned from for more than a decade.
“Her lyrics compel her fans to wonder if who she dates or what she wears could ever be separated from her good ideas and power moves. Now, with this book, I’m delighted to be doing just that.”
Collard added: “I too have been swept up in the Swift mania we have witnessed this summer with the Eras Tour. Taylor Swift’s career and fiercely independent outlook on the music business are a treasure trove of lessons on integrity, community-building and influence. Sinéad’s expert analysis of her strategy is a delicious lens to uncover the secrets of success in business and life. I cannot wait to publish her on the list.”
