Ebury has picked up How to Feed Your Toddler by child nutritionist Charlotte Stirling-Reed in a six-figure, two-book deal.
Samantha Jackson, editorial director at Ebury, acquired world rights from Morwenna Loughman at Bev James Management. How to Feed Your Toddler: Everything You Need to Know to Raise Happy, Independent Little Eaters will be published on 29th September, supported by a full marketing campaign, incorporating social and PR activity, throughout autumn.
The book offers meals and advice for parents of toddlers from 12 months right up to school age, and “brings together Charlotte’s trademark approach of evidence-based advice, nurturing support and practical problem-solving to give parents the confidence to help their toddlers develop a positive relationship with food”.
Ebury said: “With 50 delicious, healthy and super-easy recipes that introduce little ones to a variety of flavours and textures, designed so the whole family can enjoy them together, this is the essential guide to avoiding the fussy eating trap and bringing up adventurous little eaters who love a wide variety of food.”
Stirling-Reed, whose previous book How to Wean Your Baby (Vermilion) became a Sunday Times bestseller on its release last year, said: “The uncertainties with feeding don’t just stop when your baby reaches 12 months. I felt nutritional guidance for toddlers was hard to find, leaving parents wondering, ‘What happens next?’ I really hope that my new book provides parents with everything they could need to raise happy, healthy, and confident eaters—while having fun too.”
Jackson added: “Following on from the huge, and continued success of Charlotte’s first book, we are so excited to be publishing How to Feed Your Toddler. It’s in toddlerhood that so many parents get derailed and end up having to cook pasta pesto every night (me included!) and that’s why Charlotte’s help is so needed. The book will be a natural follow-on from How to Wean Your Baby and very much mirror the detailed, evidence-based support that made this first book essential reading for parents. We are incredibly proud to support Charlotte on her publishing journey.”
