A cleaning influencer who has an online reach of 700,000 followers is going into print with her first title, Live, Laugh Laundry, after it was picked up by Ebury Press.
Senior commissioning editor Ru Merritt bought world all-language rights in "cleanfluener" Laura Mountford’s book direct from Mountford. Ebury will publish in hardback and e-book on 13th April.
Ebury described the book as an essential guide to taking control of the dirty washing pile and making laundry part of a self-care routine. It covers all the laundry essentials, including tips for washing any type of fabric, how to remove common stains, the best way to clean a washing machine, as well as ways to save money and reduce a carbon footprint.
Merritt said: “We’ve seen how transformative cleaning, tidying and folding can be on our mental health. Now, Laura shows us how laundry can have the same life-changing magic on how we feel every day. I’ve already become a self-titled laundry obsessive.”
Mountford said: “The opportunity to write my first book has been a dream come true. To me my laundry products are like an extension of my beauty and self-care routine. I love having cosy scents that make my clothes smell divine—it is so comforting and makes doing my laundry therapeutic. I hope that my simple tips and tricks help others to find joy in doing their laundry as part of their self-care rituals too and perhaps even look forward to it.”
Laura Mountford, a.k.a. @Lauracleanaholic, is best known for her cleaning and laundry tips which she shares across Instagram and TikTok.
