Ebury Press has acquired The Ramadan Family Cookbook by Anisa Karolia, with senior commissioning editor Ru Merritt buying world all-language rights from Reza Hakim at Creed and Culture. Publication is scheduled for 18th January 2024.
The publisher says Karolia’s first book, The Ramadan Cookbook, was the first from a traditional publisher to focus solely on recipes designed for the holy month and Eid. It continues that this follow-up cookbook comes directly from her audience’s request for more family-focused recipes.
“With chapters including: ’One Pot Wonders’, ’Make It Healthier’, ’Crowd-Pleasing Bites’ and ’Desserts in 5’, these 80 recipes will help readers put delicious and nourishing food on the table simply and quickly,” Ebury Press says.
Karolia said: "I was delighted when Ru got in touch to discuss ideas about my second book. This book is inspired by a vibrant richness from my South Asian heritage, mixed with my Indian-African family influences creating memorable meals.
“I was overwhelmed by the success of my first Ramadan Cookbook, and I had so many more recipes I just couldn’t fit in so it really did make sense to create another to make a set, with even more delicious family favourite recipes the whole family can enjoy during Ramadan, Eid and every day cooking throughout the year."
Merritt said: “It was exciting to see how well-received Anisa’s first cookbook was. With recipes that can be made for Suhoor, Iftar and Eid, my hope is that this new book will be a much-loved companion in the kitchen for those who follow Ramadan.”
