Ebury Press has triumphed in a three-way auction for There’s A Soup For That, a "bold and beautiful" book of soups, from Theresa von Wangenheim.
Celia Palazzo, senior commissioning editor, acquired world all-language from Oscar Janson-Smith at Oscar Janson-Smith Ltd.
With "stunning" photography and "slurp-worthy" recipes, There’s A Soup For That "add[s] a touch of magic to [an] age-old culinary staple". The recipes are grouped by mood and situation from "emotional support soups", "soups as medicine" to "soups to impress" with "nourishing" classics such as tomato soup with grilled cheese croutons, Italian wedding soup and onion soup with spring onion tempura.
Speaking about her forthcoming title, von Wangenheim said: "There’s a Soup for That aims to help soup take the stage as a vibrant and fun main character – not just a starter, a side, or a sick-day staple. I wrote the book for soup enthusiasts and sceptics alike, and it’s my mission to prove that no matter what you’re going through in life, there’s a soup for that."
Theresa von Wangenheim is a German-American creative who lives and works between London and Munich. Initially sharing recipes on Instagram alongside her day job, she saw the project take on a life of its own after a collaboration with M Missoni. Since then, she’s been featured in Vogue UK and the Sunday Times, as well as major German publications and television shows, and continues to grow her engaged Instagram following @sssssoupsssss.
