Ebury Press has signed food blogger Anisa Karolia’s The Ramadan Cookbook, described by the publisher as “vibrant, delicious and exceptionally useful".
Ru Merritt, senior commissioning editor, bought world all language rights from Reza Hakim at Creed & Culture, for publication ahead of Ramadan on 9th March 2023.
“Full of recipes perfect for Suhoor, Iftar and Eid-al-Fitr, this cookbook contains a wealth of meals to inspire all home cooks during the holy month of Ramadan,” Ebury Press says. “From classic dishes that Anisa’s mother made when she was a child, to fusion dishes that are increasingly popular with a new generation of cooks during Ramadan – these recipes are ones that are made for sharing and eating together.
“Accompanied by refreshing drinks, sweet treats, chutneys, side salads and breads, this a broad and authentic collection of recipes.”
Karolia is an award-winning food blogger – having won the award for Digital Activity of the Year at the British Muslim Awards in 2020 – and has been writing recipes and recording videos for more than seven years.
She said: “Publishing this cookbook is an absolute dream come true! I’m so happy to be sharing some of my favourite recipes that I grew up with and enjoyed with my family so that they can be loved by others.
“I’ve included familiar old school classics as well as modern twists. The cookbook includes my most popular online recipes as well as lots of new recipes exclusive to this book. Knowing how much food is a part of Ramadan, looking around I couldn’t actually find a book quite like this. I’m so excited then that The Ramadan Cookbook perfectly fills this gap and will be a go-to for inspiration in the holy month (and the recipes can be enjoyed throughout the year in everyday cooking, too!).”
Merritt said: “I couldn’t be happier to be publishing Anisa’s cookbook. There’s so little publishing on Ramadan, especially in the cookery space, and so I’m thrilled that Anisa will be sharing her most popular and beloved Ramadan recipes. This is such a vibrant, delicious and exceptionally useful cookbook – we can’t wait to share it with everyone.”
