Ebury Press has signed One Sinha Lifetime: Comedy, disaster and one man’s quest for happiness, an autobiography from comedian and star of "The Chase" Paul Sinha.
Robyn Drury, publishing director, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Sally Carter at Red Comedy. The book will be published in February 2024.
One Sinha Lifetime is a "warm and witty coming-of-age" story. The publisher continued: "Amid life’s mayhem, it was frequently Paul’s love of facts in which he found solace, whether funding his lifestyle through quiz machines or simply trying to show off to his mates. Stumbling serendipitously into both a career in stand-up and the clandestine network of competitive quizzers introduced him to a new sense of purpose, a new identity and, eventually, new love…"
Drury said: "Paul is one of the nation’s favourite TV stars, and his book reflects the quick wit and charm that makes him so popular. It’s a story of one man’s quest for happiness that is by turns hilarious and deeply moving, and we can’t wait for readers to fall in love with it."
Sinha added: "Even during its most dramatic moments, I never imagined that I would one day have the opportunity, or indeed the self-belief, to put my life story onto paper. Thanks to Ebury Publishing, I have been given that chance, and I hope readers have as much fun following this unusual tale, as I had tying it all together."
