Ebury Press has signed the first cookbook from food journalist Fliss Freeborn entitled Do Yourself a Flavour: 75 Easy Recipes to Feed Yourself, Your Flatmates and Your Freezer.
Editor Emily Brickell acquired world language rights from Daisy Parente at Lutyens & Rubinstein. The book will be published on 27th July 2023.
Do Yourself a Flavour contains "simple, thrift recipes for a student and Millennial audience, as well as troubleshooting common kitchen conundrums and tips on transforming leftovers into full meals". The publisher added: "Freeborn’s tongue-in-cheek humour gives a playfulness to her recipes, inspiring fun in the kitchen, as well as good food."
Brickell said: "We fell in love with Fliss’ writing from the very first paragraph of her proposal. This book is laugh-out-loud funny, yet still full of helpful advice to benefit not only young cooks, but even those of us with more experience in the kitchen."
Freeborn commented: "Writing this book has been an absolute joy – I have loved every minute of the process. I hope it will help readers to look at everyday ingredients in new ways, while minimising waste and maximising flavour. And if it makes people laugh, then even better."
