Ebury Spotlight has snapped up a non-fiction book of "life lessons" by singer Jane McDonald, who is also a TV and radio star.
Senior editorial director Lorna Russell acquired world rights from K T Forster, representing Talent4Media, and Let the Light In: Lessons Learned Through Life, Love and Laughter will publish on 26th September 2024 in hardback.
"In Let the Light In, Jane talks in depth about losing her partner Ed in March 2021, and reveals with humour and heart how surviving the dark times has helped her to live her best life," the synopsis says. On the book’s title, the synopsis adds: "It’s a philosophy Jane lives by, and, in this new book she explores her experiences of heartbreak and loss, failure and burn-out, while always remembering the value of friendship, the love of family, and when to laugh."
McDonald said: “The title of this book is borrowed from one of my songs, and ‘Let the Light In’ means a great deal to me for lots of reasons. I’ve lived life by this philosophy, everyone through life has tragedy but if sharing all the lessons I’ve learned on my journey can help other people to keep chasing their dreams, conquer their fears and find more joy in life, I’ll be so chuffed.”
Russell added: “What could be more uplifting than spending time in the company of Jane McDonald? This book is your opportunity to do just that. After reading Let the Light In, you’ll be wiser, happier and you’ll feel like Jane is your new best friend. That’s a world we all want to live in."
