Entrepreneur and content creator Jemma Solomon, known as The Label Lady, has gone to Ebury Spotlight with her first book, Love, Lists and Labels.
Publishing director Charlotte Hardman acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Amanda Harris and Anna Dixon at YMU, with publication scheduled for 15th June 2023.
Solomon started her bespoke labelling company back in 2020, going from working full-time as an NHS nurse to setting up a business that helps people organise and take control of their lives.
After building an online community of over 760,000 followers and having secured investment from Lord Alan Sugar, the publisher says: “Jemma is now using her journey to help readers confront self-doubt and move forward to deliver their own dreams.”
Ebury’s synopsis of the book reads: “Organisation has long been something that Jemma has used to bring order and calm into her life. Her part-memoir, part-manual will encourage others to do the same — whether it’s a small change such as organising parts of their home or pursuing long-held goals.
“Love, Lists and Labels will weave together the personal and the practical as Jemma honestly and openly tells her story for the first time while also sharing the practical tips, hacks and takeaways that have gotten her through life’s most challenging moments.”
Solomon said: “I am so excited to be working with Ebury on my first book, and I can’t wait to share more of my life and my organising hacks with my followers. I’m so grateful to them, and hope that my story can inspire them to know that if they have a dream, no matter what that dream is, they can achieve it.
“Whether it’s the business they’ve always dreamed of or maybe organising a cupboard to bring a little bit more calm to their lives. If I can do it, anyone can do it. I founded my company, the Label Lady, at a time when I realised my anxiety was helped by organising, and I’ve loved how my story has resonated with so many people.
“Charlotte and the Ebury team have been amazing already, and I’m so pleased to have an opportunity to answer the many questions I’m asked about my life and being a female entrepreneur. Times are hard and dreaming big can sometimes seem impossible so making sure we make time for the small wins will be at the heart of my first book. Feeling proud of the small things is just as important, and leads to those bigger achievements.”
Hardman said: “Jemma is such a ray of sunshine and we are thrilled to be working with her to share her story. Jemma talks so honestly about how organisation has helped her and I think at a time when the world feels like a rather overwhelming place and there is much uncertainty, it’s a huge inspiration to find people who can help us find some order and seek comfort in even the smallest ways in our lives and homes.”
