Ebury Press is set to publish a book on conspiracies and disinformation from Danny Wallace.
Somebody Told Me: One Man’s Unexpected Journey Down the Rabbit Hole of Lies, Trolls and Conspiracies is the latest in a multi-book deal for UK and Commonwealth rights between Ebury and Wallace, who is represented by Robert Kirby at PFD. It will publish 9th May.
Wallace’s previous non-fiction books with Ebury include Join Me, Yes Man, Awkward Situations for Men, Friends Like These, and Random Acts of Kindness.
Somebody Told Me began after Wallace found an unusual set of emails from a stranger on his dad’s old computer. “What happens next leads him down a rabbit hole, exploring the contagion of disinformation, everyday lies, trolls and conspiracy theories.”
Suzanne Connelly, commissioning editor at Ebury, said: "Danny is an Ebury legend and it’s been an unbelievable experience to get the chance to work with him on Somebody Told Me. Written with his trademark wit and curiosity, readers are in for an epic journey as they fall down the rabbit hole of lies, conspiracies and disinformation with Danny.”
Wallace added: "Everything has gone crazy. And Somebody Told Me is my attempt to make sense of the nonsense. What started as something quite personal has become something I hope is universal. Because this stuff affects every one of us, and every one of us to come."
