Egmont gets quadruple helping of books from Matt Lucas

Egmont Books has landed four more books from Matt Lucas, including his first joke book to be published on 1st October 2020. 

Publishing director Melissa Fairley secured world rights from Amanda Harris, director of publishing at YMU. The first book in the deal will mark the start of a new author-illustrator partnership between Lucas and Sarah Horne.  

Aimed at ages seven plus, My Very Very Very Very Very Very Very Silly Book of Jokes will include knock knock jokes, "classic one-liners" and "shaggy dog stories", as well as a Hall of Fame of the very worst jokes ever. 

Fairley said: "It’s lovely to be working with Matt again – he’s such an exciting new voice in children’s publishing. Kids are going to love his new joke book series!" 

Lucas commented: "I’ve loved working with Egmont on Thank You, Baked Potato and I’m delighted to be publishing four more titles with them, including a My Very Very Very Very Very Very Very Silly Book of Jokes!"

Egmont published Lucas' Thank You, Baked Potato in May 2020 to raise money for charity FeedNHS.
