Endeavour Press acquires rights for Saul David

Endeavour Press has acquired worldwide English language print and digital rights for Saul David’s non-fiction work After Dunkirk, a revised and updated edition of his "ground-breaking" Churchill’s Sacrifice of the Highland Division (Brassey's).

It joins the launch list for the new print imprint Endeavour Ink and will be published in June 2017.

In After Dunkirk, Saul David charts the Highland Division’s journey from their arrival in France, through the excitement of patrol operations and its magnificent defensive battles on the Somme and the Bresle, to their final, desperate stand. After Dunkirk is a "stunning piece of work that will fascinate anyone interested in WWII", according to the publisher.

David said: "After Dunkirk was my first book and I’m delighted that Endeavour Ink are making the revised hardback edition available to a new generation of readers. As the Second World War fades from living memory, it’s important that the heroism and sacrifice of that conflict are not forgotten."

Saul David is an historian, broadcaster and the author of several works of fiction and non-fiction. His history books include The Indian Mutiny: 1857 (shortlisted for the Westminster Medal for Military Literature), and Tragedy of the Zulu War of 1879 (a Waterstone's Military History Book of the Year). He has also written two historical fiction novels, Zulu Hart and Hart of Empire (both Hodder).

His latest work of non-fiction, Operation Thunderbolt: Flight 139 and the Raid on Entebbe Airport was an Amazon UK History Book of the Year for 2015.

The film rights were bought by Hollywood film company Participant Media and used in the making of the motion picture "Entebbe", filmed on location in Malta and London from November 2016 to January 2017. The film is co-produced by Working Title, directed by José Padilha, and stars Rosamund Pike, Daniel Brühl and Eddie Marsan.
