Everything With Words picks up Moffatt's 'brilliant' middle-grade debut

Everything with Words has acquired Hannah Moffatt's "brilliant" comic children’s debut, Small!, to be illustrated by Rory Walker. 

World English rights, excluding audio, were acquired from Lydia Silver at Darley Anderson Children’s Book Agency. Small! is aimed at readers aged nine plus and will be published in May 2022. 

Mikka Haugaard, editor, said: "We have been looking for humour and Small! is a real gem. For his 10th birthday Harvey Small gets a pair of stilts and is sent to a school for promising giants but if anyone discovers that Harvey is an imposter he’ll be stamped as flat as a pancake. Can Harvey survive? Can he save his new friends from the unspeakable circus?"

Moffatt added: "Small! was so much fun to write and I'm totally thrilled it's found a home on Mikka's fabulous list. I hope children will love the swamp, silliness and Rory's hilarious illustrations as much as me."
