Independent publisher Everything With Words is publishing its first novel for adults, Inside the Beautiful Inside by Emily Bullock.
Everything with Words founder Mikka Haugaard bought world English rights from Ed Wilson at Johnson & Alcock. The book will publish on 2nd July 2020 in paperback for £8.99.
Inside the Beautiful Inside “is a lyrical, shocking and wholly relevant exploration of a mind in torment, based on the true story of James Norris, a sailor who was incarcerated in Bedlam (Bethlem Hospital for the Insane) from 1800-1814, most of the time tied to a stake in solitary confinement” according to its synopsis.
Bullock has an MA in creative writing from the University of East Anglia and completed her PhD at the Open University, where she teaches creative writing. She won the Bristol Short Story Prize for My Girl which was also broadcast on BBC Radio 4. Her debut novel, The Longest Fight (Myriad Editions, 2015), was shortlisted for the Cross Sports Book Awards and listed in the Independent’s Paperbacks of the Year.
