Eye Books has scooped Ghost Tide, the debut children’s novel from former Sky Sports reporter Jim Cockin.
Publisher Dan Hiscocks acquired world rights directly from the author for publication in October 2024 under the Lightning imprint.
For readers aged eight and over, Ghost Tide is an "atmospheric poltergeist" tale set on the East Anglian coast. Cockin commented: "I’m delighted to have Ghost Tide published by Eye Books and to be working with their supportive team. I wanted to write the sort of ghost story that I couldn’t put down as a child – the type of tale that gets inside your head and stays with you long after you’ve turned off the light."
Hiscocks added: "We were immediately impressed by Jim’s strong storytelling skills. This is a good old-fashioned ghost story set in the present day, with a very atmospheric location. We can’t wait for young people to read it."
