Faber launches Carroll's 'enthralling' middle-grade standalone and repackages backlist

Faber will publish Emma Carroll’s 10th middle-grade standalone, The Week at World’s End, alongside repackages of her entire backlist in September.

Desribed as a "heart-warming and enthralling thriller", The Week at World's End is told across the seven days during which the Cuban Missile Crisis became public knowledge. The novel will be published in hardback, a first for a middle-grade novel by Carroll, and will ​be accompanied by an exclusive signed edition for Waterstones, featuring an additional short story, "The World According to Anna".

Leah Thaxton, Faber publisher, has also recently signed a further three books with Carroll, which will see her publish one book a year with Faber up to 2025.

Thaxton acquired world rights from Jodie Hodges at United Agents. The Week at World’s End will publish in hardback on 2nd September, alongside repackages of Frost Hollow Hall, The Somerset Tsunami and When We Were Warriors.

Repackages of Secrets of a Sun King, The Girl Who Walked on Air and In Darkling Wood will publish alongside The Week at World’s End paperback in March 2022. Letters from the Lighthouse and Strange Star repackages will publish in September 2022.
