Faber Music and Decca Records have pounced on the second "one-of-a-kind" book by Norwegian singer Aurora, entitled What Happened to the Heart?
Lucy Holliday, creative director at Faber Music, Sarah Carton, e-commerce product manager at Decca Records, and George Edgeller, associate publisher at Universal Music Group, acquired global rights from Geir Luedy and Jamila Scott at Made Management. The book will be published in cloth-bound hardcover with original artwork and photography on 17th October 2024.
Hilary Griffin, sales and sarketing director from Faber Music, commented: “Following the sell-out success of ‘The Gods We Can Touch’, we’re thrilled that fans worldwide will have the opportunity to delve further into the creative mind of AURORA in this, her second book. It’s a delight to collaborate with Decca Records once again on a project as special as this.”
What Happened to the Heart? is a full-colour reproduction of Aurora’s notebook, intending to act as logbook and travel journal that will invite readers into the "introspective journey" that inspired the singer’s latest album.
The book will contain all the album’s song lyrics and will "delve into the profound reflections and experiences that shaped her music, revealing the deep emotions and ideas that gave life to each song".
Aurora said: “This book contains every thought that came to mind the first time I asked myself the question that became the very seed of my fourth album, ’What Happened To The Heart?’. I found myself in a dark place, and as I looked out at the world it seemed to find itself in an even darker place. So I searched for light in the only place I know, music. In this book you will find what you may not hear in the music. I hope it touches your soul."
Associate publisher at Universal Music Group, George Edgeller added: “Aurora is a singular talent and it is such a privilege to bring her dazzling creativity and artistry to the page with her latest book. What Happened to the Heart? is sure to delight Aurora’s legions of fans across the world."
