Faber is to publish Funny You Should Ask: Your Questions Answered by the team of researchers and writers behind BBC Two's panel show, "QI".
Associate publisher Laura Hassan acquired world rights from BBC. She said: "'QI' can explain the most wonderful (and sometimes hugely complex) matters of the universe in a pithy paragraph and this book will be unashamedly brainy, intriguing and funny. Faber looks forward to working with the BBC and QI on this venture and getting this book into the hands of many readers."
The book will include a foreword by Zoe Ball, inspired by the weekly appearance the "QI" team make on "The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show's Why Workshop". The book will be the 18th QI title to be published by Faber, which states that worldwide, QI titles have sold almost four million copies.
The research team, known as the "'QI' Elves", said: "It has been a delight visiting Zoe on the Why Workshop each week—and the questions posed by her brilliant Radio 2 audience have been keeping us on our toes for 18 months now. Writing this book has been the perfect opportunity to pin down once and for all some of the trickiest and most fascinating questions we’ve faced—from the cosmically consequential (how much water would you need to put out the Sun?) to the totally trivial (why aren’t unicorns called unihorns?)—and we can’t wait to present Zoe with her copy."
Funny You Should Ask: Your Questions Answered by the QI Elves will be released on 15th October in hardback.
