Farshore has acquired the official publishing rights for online game Adopt Me!
Emma Cairns-Smith, global licensing acquisition director for brands and licensing, signed a worldwide rights deal with Richard Haines, head of consumer products at Uplift Games, securing HarperCollins the right to create and publish Adopt Me! books across a variety of formats globally.
Adopt Me! has seen a record-breaking 1.92m peak concurrent users and boasts more than 33bn lifetime plays. Players can adopt and raise the cutest pets, build homes and make friends.
Farshore will be launching in July 2023, with two titles; Adopt Me! Perfect Pets Journal and Adopt Me! Dress Your Pets Sticker Activity Book. The launch range will be followed by an annual in September, and more publishing in 2024 and beyond including game guides and fiction.
Cairns-Smith said: “Over the past five years, the growth of Adopt Me! has been astounding. We are excited not only to bring game guides and sticker books to fans, but also to work with Uplift to develop original fiction and graphic novels. The world of Adopt Me! is about to give even more to the fans, through the publishing, and we cannot wait to bring the books to market.”
Haines added: “We are delighted to be working with Farshore on our official publishing. The first titles look fantastic and I am sure they will be a real treat for our fans. I can’t wait to see them launch later this year.”
