Farshore has snapped up four new picture books from award-winning illustrator Alex Willmore.
Harriet Rogers, deputy art director, secured world publishing rights including e-book with Susan Penny, managing agent at The Bright Agency. The books will release once a year between 2023 and 2026.
This new deal will follow the publication of I Did See a Mammoth, which launches in October 2022 and has already sold in 11 languages ahead of publication.
Rogers said: “We are over the moon to be publishing more fabulous author-illustrated titles from Alex. With his mischievously funny, commercial storytelling and captivating characters, Alex is one of the most exciting talents in picture books right now so we couldn’t be more excited to welcome this rising star to the Farshore family.”
Willmore won the Shropshire Bookfest Picture Book Award and the FCBG Children’s Book Award. He has been nominated for a Kate Greenaway Medal.
Willmore added: “I’m so unbelievably excited to continue working with the amazing team at Farshore. I couldn’t be happier knowing that my stories have found such a wonderful home. The art direction, editing and book design have truly made I Did See a Mammoth a book to be proud of and I look forward to creating more super-fun books with the Farshore team.”
