Hot Key Books has acquired the debut YA novel by Yasmin Rahman, one of the contributors to the 2017 anthology A Change is Gonna Come (Stripes/Little Tiger).
All The Things We Never Said tells the story of three intensely troubled girls, Mehreen, Olivia and Cara, who meet and form an unlikely friendship when they join a suicide website.
Publishing director Emma Matthewson acquired world rights, including e-book and audio, from Hellie Ogden at Janklow & Nesbit following “fierce competition” from other publishers.
“Yasmin has a real voice and writes with passion,” said Matthewson. “With Mehreen, Olivia and Cara, she has created three unforgettable characters who all have something to say about the pressures that teens have to face today. We could not be more proud or excited to be publishing Yasmin and helping to bring her writing to a worldwide audience."
Hot Key, which is an imprint of Bonnier Zaffre, will publish All the Things We Never Said in July 2019.
