Welsh independent publisher Firefly Press has acquired the UK and Commonwealth rights to Wilde, a MG psychological thriller by Eloise Williams.
The novel is about a girl called Wilde, who moves back to live with her aunt in the Welsh valleys. When a school play wakes up local legends of a witch called Winter, Wilde’s magic powers leave her scared and ostracized.
Editor Janet Thomsas struck the deal with Kate Shaw of the Shaw Viney Agency and will publish in spring 2020.
Thomas said: “In her writing and her outreach to readers, Eloise’s energy and imagination are extraordinary. She’s a powerhouse and I am sure readers will love Wilde as they have loved her previous heroines. I’m so proud we publish her.”
