Firefly Press takes the lead with Chilvers' sausage dog series
Firefly Press has signed Michael the Incredible Super-Sleuth Sausage Dog, the second in the series, from Terrie Chilvers and illustrated by Tim Budgen.
Publisher Penny Thomas acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Amber Caravéo at Skylark Literary Ltd. The book is slated for publication in May 2024 for readers aged between seven and nine.
The first book in the series, Michael the Amazing Mind-Reading Sausage Dog, also published with Firefly Press, was selected as the first title in the new Blue Peter Book Club which will be aired on 27th October. In book two, "Michael is ready to take Hollywoof by storm once again. But being a su-paw-star isn’t working out quite like Michael planned. So, when Susan the chocolate Labrador gets dognapped, Michael jumps at the chance to wow his fans by becoming, not just a mind-reading sausage dog, but a detective mastermind as well…"
