Louise Haines, 4th Estate’s non-fiction publishing director, has bought the first book by BBC Radio 4 Today presenter Mishal Husain, described as "the ultimate handbook for women".
The deal for UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, was struck with Elly James on behalf of HHB agency.
The book aims to "inspire, motivate, champion and encourage all women to reach their potential, at work or in life" by focusing on "the practical skills that make a difference". The guide will be informed by Husain's own experiences and interviews.
Haines said: "This promises to be the most inspirational guide for women at all stages of their working lives. It will help women hone the skills they need to survive and prosper and nothing quite like it has been published for women before. It will be essential reading. Mishal is both an eye-opening and an encouraging voice."
The book will be published by 4th Estate in Spring 2018.
