Bloomsbury Education is to publish four Ancient Greek mysteries by children's book author Saviour Pirotta.
Commissioning editor Hannah Rolls acquired world rights to the titles from Katy Loffman at Pollinger Limited.
Rolls said: "We’re thrilled to be publishing these exciting mystery-adventures. They will give children a real flavour of what life was like in ancient Greece and will keep them gripped from start to finish. Thrax and Nico are such great main characters – we can’t wait for everyone to meet them!”
Loffman said: "This is our first major book deal for Saviour Pirotta since we’ve been representing him at Pollinger Limited, and we are delighted that it is with Bloomsbury, which is the perfect home for these Ancient Greek mysteries.”
Pirotta added: "I am thrilled to be working with Bloomsbury on a series that's been a labour of love for many years. It's great fun putting Thrax and Nico in impossible situations where they have to use all their skills and ingenuity to survive. The stories are set in Classical Greece but the characters in my stories will resonate with readers today."
The first book, The Mark of the Cyclops, will be published in Spring 2017.
